Former Royal Air Force photographer Dennis C. Andrews has always been fascinated by the way in which mankind uses technology to create weapons of war. Amid the horror of warfare there have been some spectacular moments which he feels are worth painting.

Using the latest computer techniques combined with traditional skills, Dennis has lately concentrated on naval topics and, working with other Fleetaction.com colleagues, has built up an impressive portfolio.

Dennis is currently Artist-in-Residence of WARSHIPS International Fleet Review and some of the works he has provided to illustrate its features are included in the special gallery of his work on this site. Dennis also works to commission for private individuals.

One of the major projects Dennis has embarked on this year is to provide a set of exclusive paintings and drawings for a new book on the British battleship HMS Warspite, written by Fleetaction.com colleague Iain Ballantyne, which is to be published in 2001. We have provided a special preview of this work. The big project for Dennis this year is to provide a special limited edition collection of paintings of events in the history of the British submarine service. Some of them will be published in a book which chronicles the development of British submarines, and their exploits, between 1901 and 2001. See our publications page.
